Recipe Inspiration: Add a twist to this classic fudge recipe. Peppermint Fudge: For a peppermint fudge, once fudge mixture is poured into tray, gently press in 1/4 cup of crushed peppermint candies. For a stronger peppermint taste, add 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract when stirring in Marshmallows and Morsels. Nutty Fudge: For a nutty fudge, stir in 1/2 cup of your favorite chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, peanuts, or pistachios) or dried fruit (cranberries, cherries, or apricots) with Marshmallows and Morsels. Instructions: You'll need: 2 tablespoons butter. (1) Line 8-inch-square baking tin with foil. Spray foil lightly with non-stick cooking spray. (2) Combine Sugar Mix, Carnation Evaporated Milk (The 5 fl. oz. can of Carnation Evaporated Milk included in this kit is equivalent to 2/3 cup of evaporated milk), and 2 tablespoons butter in medium, heavy-duty sauce pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, stir constantly for 4 minutes. Remove from heat. (3) Add Nestle Toll House Morsels and Marshmallows all at once. Stir vigorously until morsels and marshmallows are melted. (4) Immediately pour the mixture into pan; smooth top. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm. Lift from pan; remove foil. Cut into 24 pieces. Cutting tip: Dip sharp knife into hot water and wipe dry. Cut fudge, wiping clean after each slice and repeat. Store in tightly sealed container; refrigerate for up to 3 days. Make over 1-1/2 pounds. Just add butter. Keep in a cool dry place. Follow preparation instructions.
