23 cal per cookie. Pizzelle History: Extra thin - Extra crisp - Extra delicious. Pizzelle are traditional Italian cookies, made primarily by the people of the Abruzzo region of Italy. Originally made on cast iron grills over a high heat, Pizzelle were always made the same way: with a great deal of time and patience stirring the mixture, dropping individual balls of dough onto the griddle, pressing it shut and waiting endless minutes for one cookie to bake at a time. Fortunately this little piece of culinary art is now able to be enjoyed by those of us without the knowledge, time or equipment to prepare these cookies conventionally. No trans fat. No preservatives. Only 23 calories per cookie. Product of Canada.
Warning Contains: Contains: wheat, eggs, soy ingredients.
Directions Serving Suggestions: Enjoy Pizzelle plain, lightly dusted with powdered sugar, spread with jams or preserves, or simply with your favorite beverage. Fabulous recipe ideas are limited only by your imagination. Try the following suggestions. Breakfast Treats: Take your favorite flavor of Pizzelle, break into bite-sized pieces and place in a cereal bowl. Add milk and/or fresh fruit and serve. Pizzelle can also be added to your favorite cereals for extra zest. Layered Pizzelle Cake: Using individuals dessert dishes, layer Pizzelle and your favorite pudding, making sure to cover the entire cookie surface on each layer. Use as many cookies as desired and use whipped cream instead of pudding for the top of the final cookie. Decorate as desired. Refrigerate 12 to 24 hours before serving. Frozen Treats: Using your favorite ice cream, spread approximately 1/2 inch thickness between two Pizzelle cookies. Separate each sandwich with waxed paper and place in your freezer. To be enjoyed after school
