Doug CyganDoug Cygan

President

Doug Cygan is President of Jewel-Osco, a division of New Albertsons Inc.

Prior to his appointment in 2017 he was Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising for all 187 Jewel-Osco locations in the Chicagoland area. In that role Doug supervised all aspects of marketing, merchandising, promotion and sales strategies.

Doug began his career with Jewel-Osco more than three decades ago as a part-time clerk.  He has served in a variety of operational roles and marketing/merchandising positions, including Store Director, Marketing Director, Vice-President of Fresh Merchandising and vice president of Grocery Merchandising.

Doug Cygan earned a bachelor’s degree in Food Distribution from Western Michigan University. He serves on the boards of Northern Illinois Food Bank, Greater Chicago Food Depository, Western Michigan University and NorthPointe Resources, a private, not-for-profit provider of developmental disability and behavioral health services in the Zion area.


 

Jerry OtisJerry Otis

Vice President – Operations

Jerry Otis is Vice President of Operations at Jewel-Osco, a division of New Albertsons Inc.

Jerry began his retail grocery career as a Courtesy Clerk with Albertsons in Boise, Idaho in 1979. While pursuing a degree at Portland State University, Jerry worked as a Cashier and Courtesy Clerk at an Albertsons store in Tigard, Oregon.  After graduation, Jerry continued to rise through the ranks at various Oregon stores until he was promoted to Store Director in Medford, Oregon in 1995. In 1999, he was promoted to District Manager in Denver, Colorado.  He also served as a District Manager in Portland, Oregon before being named District Manager in Western Montana in 2005.

Under Jerry’s leadership, the Western Montana District has delivered a positive identical sales increase for 40 straight quarters.  That equates to a positive sales ID every quarter for the last ten years in a row. However, Jerry is not just an expert in growing sales; his stores have also been among the most profitable in the company for that span of time.

He was named Vice President of Operations at Jewel-Osco in 2015.


 

Anthony SuggsAnthony Suggs

Vice President – Marketing & Merchandising

Anthony Suggs is Vice President of Marketing & Merchandising at Jewel-Osco, a division of New Albertsons Inc.

Anthony began his career at Jewel-Osco as a part-time clerk while attending college.  After completing a summer internship he joined the Store Manager Training Program and from there was promoted to Bake Shop Manager and Assistant Grocery Manager.  In 2007 Anthony transitioned to the Merchandising team with assignments that included Merchandising Coordinator, Assistant Grocery Sales Manager, Produce Business Support Manager and Business Transformation Coordinator.

In 2012 Anthony was promoted to Sales Manager for Ethnic, Deli and eventually Grocery before being promoted to his current position.

Anthony has a B.A. in Marketing from Illinois State University.

 


 

Tim CorryTim Corry

Jewel-Osco Vice President
Human Resources & Labor Relations

Tim Corry is Vice President of Human Resources and Labor Relations at Jewel-Osco, a division of New Albertsons, Inc.

He is responsible for the recruiting, hiring and training of the 31,000-member team as well as union management relations for Jewel-Osco, a division of Albertsons, LLC.

His oversight extends to such areas as performance management, staffing strategies and compensation administration as well as compliance with all employment law and responsibility for collective bargaining.

Mr. Corry’s 40 years with the company include assignments in Philadelphia as Manager of Associate Development for Acme Markets and later as Vice President of Human Resources for American Stores’ Eastern Region.

In addition, he served in Salt Lake City as Director of Human Resources for American Stores Company’s procurement and logistics group.

He was named to his current assignment at Jewel-Osco in 2001.

Corry earned a BS degree in Human Resources and Labor Relations from LaSalle University and a Master’s in Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University in Pennsylvania.


 

John YasakJohn Yasak

General Manager, Distribution Center

John Yasak is General Manager of the Jewel-Osco Distribution Center in Melrose Park, Illinois.

He began his career with Jewel-Osco more than three decades ago and in that time has held several Distribution Center supervisory roles including Manufacturing Production Supervisor, Shipping Operations Supervisor, Plant Superintendent, Warehouse Operations Manager, Director of Operations and currently General Manager.

John has overseen various supply chain projects during his tenure with Jewel-Osco including – implementation of warehouse system standardization, expansion of the Dry Grocery/Fresh Foods warehouse buildings and spearheaded several projects that have realized significant cost savings to Jewel-Osco.

He holds a B.A. from DePaul University and an M.B.A. from Benedictine University.
