Dip with Abandon to Increase Happiness and Life Satisfaction

When you stop and think about what makes you happy, have you ever considered how food choices contribute to your happiness? Emerging research suggests eating more fruit and veggies can help improve happiness, life satisfaction and emotional wellbeing.1 In fact, those who eat fruit and vegetables every day of the week are more likely to report being happy and satisfied with their lives.2 In one study, those who ate fruit and veggies 6-7 days a week reported pride in their choices, feeling good in daily activities and being confident about their future health.2

This is the reason we encourage you to dip Lil Snappers® apples with abandon in our Sliced Apples with a Greek Yogurt Walnut Caramel Dip recipe. Pairing with other nutrient-dense foods can be an effective way to work towards the goal of eating fruit and vegetables at least one more day each week and increasing happiness. Sliced Apples with a Greek Yogurt Walnut Caramel Dip
Servings: 8/ Serving Size: 1/8 of recipe
Ingredients:
½ C California walnuts, chopped
1 ½ C Open Nature vanilla nonfat Greek yogurt
1/4 C caramel topping
½ tsp Cinnamon
Lil Snappers® apples, sliced

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees. Place chopped walnuts on a baking sheet in a single layer and toast for 5 minutes. Remove from oven.
2. Spoon yogurt into a small dipping bowl. Pour caramel topping over the yogurt and swirl into the yogurt using a spoon or knife. Top with walnuts and sprinkle with cinnamon.
3. Pour mixture into a bowl and place on a larger serving plate, arranging apples on a ring around dip and serve.
