A healthy lunch at school is the key to helping students succeed.  As meatless options increase in the school cafeteria, packing a lunch at home is another tasty option.

Here are just a few reasons why packing a Meatless Monday lunch is a delicious and nutritious choice for the student in your life!

Plant based foods are packed with nutrients.  Fruits, vegetables, and grains are often thought of as side dishes or snacks.  Turn your child’s favorite snack into a meal!  By making these food items the main course you’ll have a lunch packed with all the nutrients your student’s mind and body need!

Please your picky-eater. Experimenting with new foods and meals will help your child try new foods and find new favorites.

Connect your kids with the planet and the community.  Choose produce that is grown locally or that is in season where you live and talk about how plants grow!

Get your kids in the kitchen.  Include your kids in planning and making their school lunches.  Let them choose their favorite fruits and veggies or experiment with new ones.

A nutritious lunch is sure to get your student through the day and help them succeed.  Make their Monday lunch meatless with foods that are rich in vitamins, minerals, protein, and fiber to keep them focused in class, active on the playground, and on their way to developing into healthy young adults.
