There’s nothing like a splash of milk in our coffee, a creamy smoothie made with milk, or a just a glass of the ice-cold beverage. Milk is a staple in many kitchens, and today our grocery aisles are filled with all kinds of milks to choose from. While it may be hard to sift through all the options and decide which one is best, here are four reasons why almond milk might be a good choice for you:

  1. It’s a good vegan milk option.

Almond milk is a good option if you practice a vegan lifestyle. It’s a plant-based beverage made from almonds and water. This means that even those who follow a plant-based diet can enjoy a glass of milk!

  1. It’s a great milk alternative for allergies.

Almond milk is diary-free, soy-free, and gluten-free. It makes a great alternative if you have allergies that mean you can’t drink cow’s milk or soy milk and like most milks, it is safe to drink if you have celiac disease.

  1. It’s low in calories.

A cup of plain almond milk has just 60 calories. It is also generally low in sugar as long as you choose the unsweetened varieties.

  1. It tastes great!

Almond milk has a nutty and creamy flavor that goes well in smoothies, on your cereal or oatmeal, in your coffee, or on its own! You can use almond milk any way you would use cow’s milk.
