OAK PARK, IL May 9, 2017 – Oak-Leyden Developmental Services is proud to announce Spring For Oak-Leyden, an annual fundraiser in support of the agency’s Children’s Services program.  The event, co-sponsored by Jewel-Osco and Sparkling Ice, will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 1pm-4pm at FitzGerald’s SideBar in Berwyn (6615 W. Roosevelt Rd.) and feature a variety of music, food, and activities for the entire family.

Those attending Spring For Oak-Leyden will enjoy a live performance from Chicago country-rockers These Peaches and food catered by Felony Franks.  A kids’ activity tent, sponsored by Jewel-Osco and Sparkling Ice, will provide hands-on entertainment for younger family members. The event will also feature Turano’s famous cookies, an array of raffle prizes, and a cash bar.

Proceeds from the annual fundraiser will support Oak-Leyden’s programming for young children with developmental disabilities.  Each year, nearly 400 children and their families receive early intervention services from Oak-Leyden.  The agency’s unique, multi-disciplinary approach improves long-term outcomes for these children in need through developmental, physical, speech-language, and occupational therapies.

“Last year’s disco-themed bowling event raised over $8,800 for Children’s Services,” says Rachel Wood, director of the program.  “We’re trying something new this year, with live entertainment.  Kids are welcome and we’re lining up some activities for them.  We’re looking forward to a huge success.”

Tickets to Spring For Oak-Leyden can be purchased in advance at Eventbrite.  Admission is $35 for adults in advance, $5 for kids, or $40 at the door for adults, $10 for kids.
