At the heart of Jewel-Osco's charitable giving is
the idea that being a good corporate citizen is an ongoing
responsibility. By helping to create stronger communities, we enhance
the quality of life for customers and associates. As a neighbor to
our customers in hundreds of communities across our service area, we
know that being a good neighbor means also providing for our
customers beyond our store's walls.
Donation Focus Areas
At Jewel-Osco, we are focused on providing our customers with a
Premium Fresh & Healthy experience every time they enter our stores,
so we have focused our support on not-for-profit (501c3)
organizations that help create healthy, thriving communities.
Jewel-Osco gives grants to organizations that meet the following
focus areas:
Hunger Relief
Organizations that provide comprehensive hunger relief, including
food distribution, awareness of food programs, and related social
services
Nutritional Education
Organizations that support health and wellness awareness, education
and programming, as well as disease management and prevention
through diet
Environmental Stewardship
Organizations that engage environmental issues and concerns through
education, community clean up efforts, and related activities
Criteria
Jewel-Osco evaluates requests based on the following criteria:
- A clear description of the program
- Quality delivery of a needed service
- Results which are predictable and can be evaluated
- Fiscal and management capability to carry out the program
- Broad-based community support
- Competent, qualified staff and board
- Beneficial to a substantial segment of the community, with
particular focus on at-risk or disadvantaged populations
- Associate volunteer opportunities
Jewel-Osco will generally not support:
- Organization that are not qualified as 501c3 entities.
- Individuals
- Travel or research expenses
- Fees for participation in competitive programs
- Organizations which receive more than 30% of their funding from
the United Way
- Veteran, fraternal or labor organizations
- Lobbying, political or religious programs
- Organizations that are not tax-exempt
How To Apply
If you are interested in applying for a grant from Jewel-Osco, and
your program meets one of our three focus areas, please review the
directions below to submit your request.
- Download and complete the Jewel-Osco Grant Application form.
- Download and complete a W-9 form.
- Include a budget for the program or sponsorship that is being
solicited.
- Send the completed grant application, the completed W-9, and a
copy of your 501(c)(3) letter to:

All sponsorship and grant requests must include the above
information. Incomplete requests will not be reviewed.
All sponsorship request should be received by mail at least 9
weeks prior to event date.
