The Secrets of Flavorful Cooking

Cedar-plank grilled salmon has special flavor – give it a try for a unique barbecue experience. Pick up a packaged cedar plank and seasoning at Jewel-Osco's Butcher Block. (See package for complete cooking instructions.)

Then follow these tips for delicious salmon.

  • Step 1: Soak the single-use cedar plank in hot water for 1 to 4 hours before grilling. (The longer the soak, the better.)
  • Step 2: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and coat one side of the plank with oil or non-stick cooking spray. Place seasoned salmon skin-side down on the presoaked plank.
  • Step 3: Place the prepared cedar-planked salmon on the grill indirectly over the heat source for about 20 – 30 minutes or until it is flaky. Plate the grilled salmon, serve and enjoy.
