Hello, Tom. Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding your experience with the Monopoly Game. We will make sure that your comments are forwarded for further review.

  2. Shirley Holden 14/05/2015 at 9:28 pm

Would be interesting to see the zip codes of the winners in the greater Chicagoland area.
My mom and dad have lived and shopped at a particular Jewels for over 50 years, and no major winners out of that store. Also, why does jewel food stores run different sales for different locations?

    • Customer Care 15/05/2015 at 11:16 pm

Hi Shirley, we have had so many winners this year and are excited as there are still so many prizes left to give away. In fact, we actually just had a $35K winner! Let us know the store your parents shop at and we can look specifically to see if there have been winners at that location!

  3. Kait 14/05/2015 at 10:27 pm

Not a single winner from Indiana. What’s up with that?

    • Customer Care 15/05/2015 at 8:04 pm

Hi Kait, we don’t have as many stores in Indiana as we do in Illinois, so mathematically, the chances of a winner from those stores will be less.

  4. Mary 15/05/2015 at 4:17 am

    Hello
I´m trying to check some codes on http://www.playmonopoly.us but it is not working. Would you please fix it are only some days left to finish this game.
    Thank you

  5. Clovis 15/05/2015 at 3:14 pm

Where you fill out the online game and it says that the code entered is a potential winner code. What does that really mean ?
    thanks

    • Customer Care 15/05/2015 at 8:52 pm

Hi Clovis, having a potential winner means that you won something as part of the online game. You need to print the prize form sent to your email, attaching the original game marker to the form, and follow the instructions on the form.

  6. Ray 16/05/2015 at 4:12 am

If I have a jewel receipt with it telling me how many green associate game stamps I won? Can I send it in somewhere to get my game stamps since my jewel store does not have any more green associate game stamps? Thanks ray

    • Customer Care 17/05/2015 at 2:31 am

Hi Ray, please let us know which location you shopped at. Unfortunately there is not a mail in option for ticket turn in. The game is only while supplies last. It must have been popular in your store.

  7. Teresa Olsen 16/05/2015 at 8:07 pm

    How are online winners contacted?

    • Customer Care 17/05/2015 at 10:15 am

Hi, Teresa. Winners will be contacted based on information provided with the online entry information. You can review the information in the officials rules under section four , paragraph two.

  8. Dap 17/05/2015 at 12:59 am

If I have instant winner for more tickets, can I get more until June or do I need to go to the store tonight?

    • Customer Care 17/05/2015 at 10:20 am

Hi, Dap. You can still redeem prizes for the free tickets. Keep in mind tickets are while supplies last. If your store is out of tickets, you will not be able to redeem the winners for more tickets.

  9. moresky 17/05/2015 at 7:02 pm

I have been playing the monopoly for two years now and feel let down at the amount of effort I spent to collect and enter hundreds of codes not to win even a dollar. I stopped shopping at all the other stores out there for the past several months just so I can get the most pieces possible by doing all my shopping at Jewel. I even started to buy household items like paper towels and deodorant which I normally buy elsewhere just to maximize the amount of tickets I collect. This year I have collected 460 tickets (460 x 4 =1840 pieces) and well I have won nothing. I have entered all the online codes as well and nothing yet besides more pieces to repeat this cycle. This makes me sad to think a store where I have spent a lot of money and effort to play their promotion has odds that are so far fetched from even winning a $1. I have joined many other cash back and prize promotions at many other grocery stores and have never felt lied to. At least the store does not have promotions like this at all and I know to expect nothing or they have a real system where their customer’s feel appreciated after they have been loyal. I understand this is just just an extra that you’re offering and you aren’t required to provide anything but be honest about it. Don’t advertise false hope and make the public put time/energy for nothing. That is not fair. What if I had just promised to shop at jewel but never spent any money there and then asked to win things. Jewel would not honor that but I already spent money there and then come to find out that there is no proof that anything close to $80,000,000 has been won by anyone out there. I am sick to to my stomach that I was a loyal customer and genuinely excited to play this game and trusted a store that I thought would look out for their customers. I understand you’re legally covered by the “terms and condition” but I feel the human element behind this promotion has been lost. Once I no longer feel like I’m treated as a human being whose time, effort and money is valued. All
I now see is corporate greed who covers their bases legally and tricked their customers into spending more. I normally am a private person and don’t write feedback or reviews online but I was too upset to hold this in. Thanks Jewel

    • Customer Care 18/05/2015 at 9:42 am

Good Morning, Moresky. We’re very sorry to hear of your disappointment in the game, and apologize that you feel this way. It was certainly not our intention for you to feel this way, or to have any of our valued customers feel as you do. We appreciate your loyalty to us, and want to assure you that we appreciate your feedback. As a registered online player, you do still have a chance to win in the online sweepstakes. We’ll be sure to share your comments with our marketing department, and hope that you have a good day.

  10. Customer Care 18/05/2015 at 9:37 am

Hello, Kath. We’re sorry that your local store does not have the game board, and it is not available online. The game boards are usually available at the customer service desk, and if you would like we can check with another store in your area to see if they have one for you.

  11. Andrew M. 19/05/2015 at 2:58 am

Hello. I’ve enjoyed the excitement of collecting the game pieces and participating in the Play Monopoly game with Jewel-Osco. While I understand that millions of game pieces are printed out, and that there are very, very few semi-rare pieces and then also only a handful of rare pieces that you can collect to win one of the major pieces, I still find it very hard to believe that only 65 people have collectively won a prize in this game valued at $1000 or more. There are about 400 total prizes valued from $1000 to $1million. Where are all of the other 300 plus winners for the big prizes? Are we all to believe that the “rare” or winning game pieces were never opened, thrown away, or just happen to be collected by someone who didn’t save any of the other common game pieces? It’s hard for me to criticize that it’s “not fair” that I haven’t personally won much other than instant win candy bars or yogurt, but at the same time, I’m really speaking on behalf of 99% of your regular shoppers. I think another idea to use for the future to make the game more realistic and “possible” for people to hope they can win is to allow a minimum number of winning game piece combinations to be distributed to each participating store. Then actually advertise that to the customers in the contest: “Every Store has at least $25,000 in cash valued payouts from winning game piece combinations! Increase your chances by shopping at as many stores as you can!” Just some of my thoughts here. Thanks.

collossal waste of time ,paper, and printer ink ! all you win is more loser tickets !!!

  13. Annmarie C. 19/05/2015 at 11:39 am

I would like to thank Jewel for having such great game to play. I really appreciated winning an iPad and $5. I had not shopped at a Jewel in 15+ because I live closer to 3 other stores. I shopped at the Frankfort store and was encouraged to play by an extra friendly cashier, named Katie, who I over heard her say to everyone in her line “you never know, you could get a winner”. I plan to continue shopping at the Jewel, not for the game, but for the great service! I was having fun playing the game and hope you will repeat it. I should also mention, I did shop at the Shorewood location as well. Thank you again:)

  14. Clovis 19/05/2015 at 2:57 pm

over 80 millions in prizes promised but less than 150 k prizes claimed !!
This should hit one of the major news headline. Jewel osco, the big liar…

  15. Justin 19/05/2015 at 3:07 pm

Where are the winners ? Is it one of those scums ?

    • Customer Care 19/05/2015 at 4:57 pm

The current winners are listed in the blog post “And the Wins Just Keep Coming” above. Thanks for stopping by!

  16. David 20/05/2015 at 12:13 pm

I have one small to big issue. I understand that this game is while supplies last… but, why is it when I go to the store that I see stacks of the game pieces opened up by employees? I get that they shop there as well, but to see a stack of probably 100 tickets opened in front of customers, when there are no groceries purchased is troubling. Then, when I try to get the 10+ tickets I am supposed to get, I get told there are none left; there is an issue here. Of the winners on the list, it would be nice to see just how many work at Jewel or are family members.

    • Customer Care 20/05/2015 at 12:24 pm

Thank you for your concerns, David. To create some excitement for our hard-working Associates, we have developed a completely separate “Associates Game”. It’s a companion game that plays in a similar way, but it uses completely separate game boards and markers. Associates and members of their households are not eligible to play in the Customer Game and do not play for the $1,000,000 or the $500,000 prizes. Also, the pool of prizes they are playing for is completely separate from the prizes in the Customer game. Having store associates playing a separate companion game in no way affects the chances of our valued Customers winning prizes in the Monopoly Collect & Win game.

  17. Jackie 20/05/2015 at 1:01 pm

Another year of playing the Monopoly game, with NO winning pieces for me! Too much money spent at the store trying to get extra tickets, then time wasted pulling apart the tickets and matching them up with the game board, entering codes and printing the form to then drive back to the store to get a few more useless tickets! In the end, I have won NO prizes again, and only have a few 25 cent coupons for items that I never buy! Thanks, Jewel!!! 🙁

  18. Patrick Kelly 20/05/2015 at 6:47 pm

You guys are full of you know what. How much of the the 35 mill did you actually pay out. I spent more time opening those stupid tickets then it was actually worth. This game sucks, I’m shopping at Mariano’s from now on where they have better produce, meat and no stupid games to try and drive business to their dumb stores.

    • Customer Care 21/05/2015 at 10:14 am

Hello, Patrick. Not all of the prizes have been given out. Customers have until 06/09/15 to bring their winning boards into the store to be verified. More announcement of winners will be coming. Keep an eye out. Have a great day!

    • Customer Care 22/05/2015 at 12:27 am

Good evening Dan, thank you for reaching out to us. The last day to collect tickets for Monopoly was May 19, 2015. You will have until June 9, 2015 to redeem your tickets and claim prizes. You can view the rules at: https://www.playmonopoly.us/view/rules. Thank you, and good luck!

  21. Danika Amusin 26/05/2015 at 3:00 am

I’ve just been opening and checking all my Monopoly pieces that I got over the past few months, and entering the online codes, and for one of them, it says that the code has already been entered, but I literally just opened the ticket! Just wanted you guys to know that potentially people are scamming it by entering random codes hoping they win. Is there any way I can check to see if the code (which I have the paper for) is actually a winner?

  22. M 27/05/2015 at 1:28 am

I second the comment about entering online game codes only to get the message “code has already been entered.” Happened two or three times to me when I knew I hadn’t entered that code before. So maybe the above poster is right: people are scamming online codes by entering number/letter combos for tickets they don’t actually have, hoping that they’ll hit a winning number.

Second, as was the case last year, Albertsons is really racking up as far as prizes collected compared to Jewel. Go to their website and see the current list of winners as of 5/21 and compare that to the number of current Jewel-Osco winners. Albertsons also has one big ticket 100K winner, plus more winners in all of the prizes in lower amounts.

You could argue that there are more Albertsons locations than Jewel locations, or that a greater number of Albertsons shoppers are actually playing the game versus Jewel shoppers, but the amount of Albertsons winners outnumbers Jewel winners–and it was the same in 2014.

I think year to year that all those unclaimed tickets that remain undistributed and ultimately go in the garbage ensure that a relatively low amount of winners–and prizes–actually end up being distributed. It might be true: you have better odds with the lottery!

    • Customer Care 27/05/2015 at 1:44 pm

Good morning, M. We regret your disappointment with our Monopoly game but we appreciate all your feedback and will have your comments reviewed. You may view the odds of winning at https://playmonopoly.us.

    Customers of Jewel,

Boycot that store and company. They cheat you crazy. We need to file a complaint to inspector general.
Jewel stated that it is gonna be at least 100 winners and is is nothing,
We need to teach them a lesson

  24. Paul Ribeiro 28/05/2015 at 10:41 pm

Please confirm where i go to print the form that allows me to redeem the remaining tickets that I have

  25. Cornell 02/06/2015 at 1:32 am

I have played the monopoly game through the entire period, now I’ve gone through all of the my tickets (posting to the game board and the online), and probably like everyone else I’ve got a ton of duplicates. For many game board categories, I have multiple pieces for which I’ve never got a match. My question is this: for those semi-rare, those rare-rare, and those rare-rare-rare tickets, given the targeting areas, the multiple states, and all the participating stores / store chains, how do you know a set of those ‘rare’ tickets will ever make it to any single player’s game board (or it seems as you are hoping multiple players game board). It seems like very very long shot odds. Please explain. Thanks.

  26. Billie-Jo 04/06/2015 at 1:12 am

I’m looking to split the $100,000.00 with whomever has 117 C, the $35,000.00 with someone that has 134 E, the $20,000.00 if you have 138 F, and the $10,000.00 if you have 146 H!! I have the other rare ticket needed for these prizes!!

  27. Christine 05/06/2015 at 9:41 pm

Game pieces led you to believe you had until June 9th to enter codes, I do all of mine today with not one winner and then see on-line the cut-off was June 2. Why the different printed date on the tickets vs. the full written rules? Not very fair Jewel!

    • Customer Care 07/06/2015 at 5:53 pm

  28. Buford 14/04/2016 at 5:16 pm

Disgruntled folks: you hafta realize that the major chunk of the $165 million in “prizes” are those great (LOL) .25 and .50 coupons for cat food, fruit snacks, and RedBox rentals that most of us either throw away or that end up expiring in some kitchen drawer. The .50 coupon on English muffins you used at the checkout line? That’s your “prize.”

Jewel: It would be nice if you spread around the love a little more with $5, $10, or $20 grocery cards just to make it seem a little more “sweepstake-y.” It wouldn’t break your bank and would certainly make the whole experience a little more satisfactory and worth one’s while.

    • Customer Support 15/04/2016 at 12:10 am

Thank you for all of the feedback, Buford. We will share your suggestions with our Marketing Department for further review and consideration. -Julio

i played last year ? and never won, this year i am trying again, and my niece lives in VEGAS and we will share if need but we too are getting many repeats.the Jewel runs out of tickets too soon, and the ones we go on line to check will never give you anymore than a couple 2 free tickets.so goes the Monololy game . win if you can but please read the fine print to learn all the rules.

    • Customer Support 17/04/2016 at 8:52 pm

Thank you for your feedback Mary! We are always looking for new ways to improve our ongoing promotions and programs, and appreciate hearing all of our customer’s feedback. We have forwarded your comments to our Marketing Team for further review. Have a great day! -Samantha

  33. shannon 28/04/2016 at 4:12 am

    Hello,

I have been playing this game for the past two years and I just find it impossible for anyone to win like you guys say there is so many available prizes per prize but there so few tickets for each prize. I seriously think this is a serious waste of time and effort. Its most probably a scam. If you want to be a fool then continue to shop at Jewel.

  34. Brian Cavanaugh 03/05/2016 at 11:59 pm

Online game seems really off. Entered 34 online codes and won zero. with odds of somewhere between 1.56 and 0.31 to 1, seems as though should have won something. After entering hundreds of codes and winning nothing but more tickets, this game is really turning me off to shopping at Jewel.

  35. Michelle 19/05/2016 at 2:30 pm

When does the game end? I still have tickets to open.

    • Customer Support 19/05/2016 at 7:10 pm

Hi Michelle, the Monopoly game ended on 5/3. Sweepstakes entries must have been mailed by regular 1st class mail and postmarked no later than May 18, 2016, and received by May 25, 2016. We’re sorry for any disappointment! –Rebecca

  36. Karen 13/03/2017 at 1:02 am

I hit 10 tokens for fandango and nothing happened. Did not give me a prize. Why?

    • Customer Support 13/03/2017 at 9:39 pm

Karen, we are currently refilling the system. Once the codes are inputted/verified, everyone over the weekend who should have been issued a code will get their code along with an email notification. We apologize for the inconvenience. -Cornelius

  37. Nova 28/03/2017 at 6:05 pm

I won two tickets Rouxbe cooking school online course and one ticket of Free Shutterfly Reusable shopping Bag Reward but that number it’s not working when I had entered to monopoly online. What i must do?

  38. Sarah 10/05/2017 at 4:06 am

So when does the game officially end? If I won something on the Monopoly game board, can I still claim it?

    • Customer Support 10/05/2017 at 11:29 pm

Thanks for reaching out to us Sarah! The Monopoly promotion ended on 05/09/2017, which means no more tickets will be given out. However, you still have time to claim prizes. Please visit https://www.playmonopoly.us/customer-rules for further details. Hope this helps! -Cornelius
