We are very excited at the opportunity to welcome you to Jewel-Osco!  We have so many exciting goods and services here that we can’t wait for you to try. From low prices on thousands of the items that you buy every day to hot ads, there are so many reasons to make us your grocery store of choice!

We understand that when you are a regular shopper at your favorite store, the associates that you see on a consistent basis can become like your family.  That store can become part of your neighborhood, and that’s what our goal is at Jewel-Osco. We would love the opportunity to become part of your community!

When was the last time you were in a Jewel-Osco? If you haven’t been in to see us for a while, we would love to show you the exciting changes that we’ve made. Give us another chance; we think you’ll love it! Here’s why . . .

We ditched our Preferred Savings Card a few months back so that every shopper could receive the same great low prices. Our customers have been enthusiastic about it, too!

In honor of that, we would love the opportunity to invite you into any of our locations to turn in your Fresh Value card to receive a discount at your neighborhood Jewel-Osco!

Now through 12/31/13, stop in any Jewel-Osco store, turn in your Fresh Value card, and receive 10% off your food/general merchandise purchase (limit one per customer, does not apply to Jewel-Osco associates).  Your card will then be destroyed since you won’t need it any longer once you transition into a Jewel-Osco shopper!

    I’m sure there’s some minimum and maximum amount to take advantage of this offer – as well as exclusions not mentioned anywhere. No more cards/no more coupons upon checkout. Also, no more buying Jewel gift cards for a deal at income tax time. Your prices have been minimally recently reduced, but you can’t compare with Walgreens or Garden Fresh. I only buy sale items and last minute necessities because Jewel’s closest. And, the produce is sad, I’ve seen the same rotten and soft oranges not moved for three days. And, you’ve taken out the bulletin board in the exit area which helped to give the store a we somewhat care about the community feeling.

    I live in Highland Park. We shop at Sunset, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Marianos, CVS and Jewel. I go to Jewel primarily for fresh flowers and beverages. We happened to go there today and this policy of asking for the Dominicks card led to a very bad shopping experience and confirmed that of all the stores in my area yours offers the worst customer service by far. Frist of all, after the big promotion that you have done away with cards, how can you be asking for Dominicks cards now? The cashier Terry would not give us the credit until we saw the manager and Terry was one of the rudest passive agressive people I ever met —whatever happened to trying to please the customer? Only after the manager straightened things out did we get the discount. Then Terry had to say “Happy New Year” three times as we were leaving..Clearly a very passive agressive gesture judging from her tone. Your marketing scheme is going to backfire on you, because I will think twice before heading back into your store. What you need to focus on is improving CUSTOMER SERVICE. Compared to Sunset, Trader Joe and Whole Foods your customer service is consistently inferior and your prices are not that great either. No other store has such rude employees. Take heed, just because Dominicks is closing, you will not be getting any new business from me!!

      We’re very sorry to hear that this happened on your last trip to your local Highland Park Jewel-Osco store, Cinwag. We do not use shopper cards at our stores which is one of the reasons for offering a discount when you turn in your Dominick’s card. This was an effort to help safely dispose of these cards, as well as a way for us to welcome former Dominick’s shoppers with the 10% discount. Please be assured we expect quality customer service from our team, just as you do. We have sent your concerns over to the Store Director, Scott, for further review. He will follow up with you by email, by the end of the next business day. If you have any other comments or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

    Holy cow, what a bunch of curmudgeons. Jewel is offering you 10% in exchange for a piece of useless plastic and all you have are complaints. Yes, this is a marketing program, yes, Jewel wants your business. That is why the stores are there, because they want your business and in turn to make money. Jewel isn’t a charitable organization and you will find places that are far less spendy and places that are much more expensive. Stores with much nicer produce and stores with produce that even Jerry’s wouldn’t sell.

    Did you have a bad experience? Don’t threaten them, and say “I’ll never be back”, drop a note to corporate and let them know what your experience was. By writing it here you only look like the typical, whining Highland Park or Northbrook resident. Entitled, superior, rude, and selfish. I can say those things, I have lived in both places, many years in each and it pains me the way my neighbors act and treat others. You embarrass me to no end.

    If Jewel is giving you 10% off, say thank you and move on. They don’t have to offer you anything but it is a gracious and helpful gesture. Thank you Jewel, I had already tossed my Dominick’s card (I actually stopped shopping there ages ago in favor of Jewel) and find your offer kind and thoughtful.

    You don’t need the kind of customer who complained above. They would make your cashiers, managers, and other staff miserable.

      Yes, Tom! Just do your shopping like normal. When you checkout, give the cashier your Dominick’s card and you’ll get 10% off of your grocery bill!

    I am a long time Dominicks shopper, and have shopped at Jewel on occasion. Jewel should take some lessons from Dominicks, they had such great customer service. They were always so friendly. Every time I have been to Jewel , none of the employees greet you and the cashier said Merry Christmas and couldnt even crack a smile, and that was the same cashier on 2 different visits. This at both Oak lawn and Evergreen Park, Illinois locations.

    Hello, there is a vacancy around my areas from a recent Dominick’s that closed. a Jewel-Osco would be welcomed here, because we no longer have a close supermarket. Please consider moving to 71st and Jeffery Chicago IL, 60649. Thank you

    I am interested in the Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles and can not find it any of your stores.
